Free T-shirts is an ongoing performative project engaging communities in impromptu discussion surrounding global climate change through the act of giving away t-shirts screen printed with impactful messages.

If you are an artist and would like to participate email: kira.burge@gmail.com

Free T-shirts (visualize summer) was performed by Kira Burge and Tyrah Dunning on July 23, 2011. Sixty t-shirts were screen printed with the phrase "VISUALIZE SUMMER" and distributed to the Seattle public to instigate a conversation addressing cultural and environmental issues related to global climate change.

"Art is a way for human beings-artists, viewer, critics-to imagine the world other than it is." - Charles Esche, Curator and Founding Editor of Afterall Journal
